The Student Conduct Hearing Board is comprised of students, faculty, and staff who are trained in the University of Kansas student conduct process and who are committed to facilitating student learning through the student conduct process. Members serve on panels of three (3) throughout the year to determine student/student organization responsibility for alleged violations of the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities and determine appropriate sanctions, if any, to foster student growth and development. The Student Conduct Hearing Board plays an integral role in the adjudication of formal student conduct code and appeal cases and ensures that students are given the opportunity to have their cases heard by a representative body of the University.

What is the time commitment?
Hearing Board members are required to attend new member training before being eligible to sit on a hearing panel. Additional training may be required as policies and procedures are updated or new topical areas need to be addressed. There is no minimum number of panels to serve on each year, but it is the goal of the Office of Student Conduct to allow each board member to participate as much as scheduling allows.
