Professional Development & Training

Student Conduct and Community Standards depends on all members of the KU community to uphold the Jayhawk Values. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to participate in campus trainings and hearing panels. Students, faculty, and staff in good standing with the university are eligible to serve on non-academic misconduct hearing panels. Individuals who wish to serve on non-academic misconduct panels must complete the foundations training. Those who wish to serve on panels for sexual misconduct allegations must complete the advanced sexual misconduct hearing panel training (or the refresher training, for those who completed the advanced training in a prior year). 2021-2022 opportunities are listed below. Please be advised, all sessions take place in person, with an option to attend via Zoom. Click the links below to register. Fall 2021 SCCS Mini-Course

(The SCCS Mini-Course engages participants in an in-depth exploration of the legal foundations and current issues impacting student conduct. The course provides an opportunity to learn about the theories impacting KU’s student conduct practice, explore current trends in the field, and develop their own approach to student conduct and community standards. The course is designed for KU faculty and staff, as well as graduate assistants working in student-facing roles. Participants must attend each of four consecutive sessions to earn a certificate of completion.)
